Trending Topics in Internal Medicine is a postgraduate course designed to update internists, family practitioners, and other primary care providers on new or trending issues in medicine while battling misinformation in primary care. Common themes covered include new medical guidelines, data on current medical fads, battling misinformation in the era of social media, managing patients with pain during the opioid epidemic, and up-to-date reviews on healthcare policy. Presentations will be delivered by experts in their field.
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
**Summarize up-to-date and trending issues facing primary care physicians.
**Describe recent challenges and areas of misinformation facing primary care providers and medical specialists.
**Review updates in clinical practice guidelines in areas most relevant to primary care physicians.
The target audience includes general internists, internal medicine subspecialists, family medicine physicians and other primary health care providers.
