On Sunday, December 9, BrightonMusic Choir and Orchestra will present the 23 rd Annual Brighton
Christmas Festival at First Presbyterian Church of Brighton, 510 S. 27 th Avenue.
The 4pm concert will open with First Presbyterian’s Carillon Choir, followed by “Fanfare for Christmas
Day,” performed by the BrightonMusic Choir along with brass and tympani from the orchestra. The
choir, under the direction of Deanna Marcy, will present a mix of songs from near and far, including
“African Alleluia,” “Hatikva,” and Meredith Willson’s “It’s Beginning to Look Like Christmas.”
Bright’nJazz will provide seasonal music while the audience enjoys Bake Sale goodies in the foyer,
concluding the festivities’ “intermission” with “Feliz Navidad.”
The BrightonMusic Orchestra will contribute “Patapan,” “Gesu Bambino,” and “A Canadian Brass
Christmas” along with the gorgeous 1 st movement of “Concerto for Flute and Guitar” by Alan Thomas,
featuring Jennifer Pauley and Michael Halleck. The choir and orchestra will combine to end the concert
with “O Come, Little Children/Wachet Auf” and “Three Festive Carols.”
As always, the concert is free - donations, of course, are welcome! Pre-concert music will be provided
by the flute choir Trillseekers.
