The fourth annual SOSU POP UP Art Gallery is a showcase of unique art exhibited by local Centennial artists. The event is sponsored by SoSu (South Suburban Artist Collective) and opens Friday, November 30, 2018. This temporary art gallery will be in the space nestled between Ted’s Montana Grill and Gigi’s Cupcakes at the south end of the Aspen Grove shopping center.
The Pop Up is a short term display space being held for 6 days only (over two weekends). This exhibit consists of 9 artists from the Centennial area. A unique assortment of different medias are represented. Ceramic styles include functional and sculptural clay by Stephanie Wilson Thomas and Julie Vincelette. Emilia Van Nest Markovich, Deanna Hood, Kate Dulaney and Mary Lynn Baird offer a variety of collage, mixed media, printmaking, encaustic pieces and original jewelry. Paintings by Janet Nelson Moore ranging from traditional to abstract contemporary, Mar Knight-Hall’s all natural botanical products (Tulipan Herbals) and handmade wooden bowls and more by Alec Ellis.
There is art to speak to every taste and budget. You will be hard pressed to not find something special to take home for yourself or as a gift!
Visit the gallery the first two weekends of December; Fridays and Saturdays 10:00 a.m.- 9:00 p.m. and Sundays 11:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
